The iconic Italian aperitif cocktail, Aperol Spritz, has become a symbol of trendy happy hour. Official 3-2-1 ratio (3 parts Aperol, 2 parts Prosecco, 1 part soda). Originating in Padua (1919), it now symbolizes the Italian dolce vita worldwide.
Official Recipe (3-2-1 Ratio)
9 cl Aperol, 6 cl brut prosecco, 3 cl sparkling water. Large wine glass, ice cubes, orange slice garnish. Total ABV ~8-11%, ideal light aperitif.
History
Aperol was created in 1919 by brothers Luigi and Silvio Barbieri in Padua. A red-orange aperitif made from plants (gentian, rhubarb, peels, bitter herbs). ABV 11%. Acquired by Campari Group in 2003. The Spritz became a global trend in the 2010s.
